The rate does not change

The first question most travellers ask is whether booking a Virtuoso stay through an advisor costs more. It does not. You pay Virtuoso’s own published rate for the room you choose. Virtuoso pays our commission from its sales and marketing budget, which is why the amenities can be added without a fee or markup reaching you.

What we send to the hotel

When we reserve your stay under Virtuoso, the booking is flagged in Virtuoso’s system before you arrive. That note carries your arrival time, the occasion if there is one, and any preferences worth knowing — a quiet floor, a particular view, a dietary requirement. This is the part that is easy to underrate: the amenities are contractual, but the recognition depends on somebody at the property reading your reservation in advance and planning around it.

What affects the amenities you receive

Three things matter more than most travellers expect. Occupancy governs upgrades and early check-in more than any programme does — a sold-out night has no spare inventory, however the booking was made. Length of stay matters, because fixed benefits such as a credit amortise better across several nights and hotels allocate more generously to longer bookings. Rate type matters too, since preferred-partner amenities generally attach to specific rates and may not apply to deeply discounted or non-refundable promotions.

If you have already booked

A reservation made directly with Virtuoso can often be rebooked under Virtuoso at the same rate, provided it is still cancellable and was not made through a third-party site. Send us the confirmation and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth moving — and if it is not, we will say so. Send an existing booking or start a new enquiry.
